The 365 is a small pistol and the short recoil spring can be stiff until broken in. Put a bunch of rounds through it and it will start to loosen up. And the slide release will be easier as well. Use your support hand if necessary until it gets easier.

That's by design so the slide will be in the locked back position informing the operator it's time to reload or go home. Feb 26, 2023 · Out shooting this evening with my P365 and twice it failed to fire. The first time it happened I was able to pull back on the slide a little. After releasing the slide it went forward and the gun fired. About 10 shots later it failed to fire again. Now the slide will only move about an eighth of an inch backward and forward. It takes almost no force to defeat the magazine release spring. The only reason I can see to use force to insert a magazine is in the event the slide is closed so you're able to defeat the magazine spring as the top round makes contact with the slide. On a closed slide I just "push with speed" and apply pressure as necessary to seat the mag. God bless America. The P365 magazine springs are stiff at first. You won't encounter nearly as much resistance when the magazine is loaded, of course, and obviously if you remove the magazine, no problem. Likewise, if you retract the slight slightly and then depress the release, you won't have so much difficulty.Jun 24, 2023 · I am more than a little OCD. P365 mags aren’t really stiff because Sig thinks you should build strong thumbs. Like everything else in gun design, there are tradeoffs. In a gun as small as the P365, the slide mass is fairly low, so it wants to cycle faster than a larger gun. Problem is, the slide could cycle faster than the magazine can push a fresh round to the top.Sucker is stuck stuck, moves slightly, then binds up. Removing the magazine and pulling the slide back releases it. But any pressure from the slide resting on the catch causes absolute binding.
